Phoenix Suns Announce Unfortunate Kevin Durant Update During Rockets Matchup
The Phoenix Suns hosted the Houston Rockets with a chance to get one step closer to being in the Play-In Tournament.
While it’s a sad reality and a showing of an abysmal season, the Suns are fighting for the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference.
With Kevin Durant and Devin Booker on the roster, missing the playoffs is a failure, and the club is on pace to do exactly that.
Recently, the superstar forward has ramped up his play as Durant and Booker have looked brilliant as a duo, even with the team’s shortcomings.
However, it’s certainly a possibility that Durant has played in a Suns jersey for the final time in his career.
The 36-year-old went down as Phoenix was being routed by the Rockets, suffering an apparent ankle injury.
Regardless of the extent of the injury, at his age, Durant may opt to recover throughout the remainder of the season with less than a month to go in the regular season.

Suns make unfortunate Durant announcement
The Suns announced that Durant will miss the remainder of the game — which they trail by 40 points in the fourth quarter — with an ankle injury.
“Suns say Kevin Durant (left ankle sprain) will not return,” Gerald Bourguet shared on X.
The future first ballot Hall of Fame superstar saw the Suns continually get worse during his tenure, and the club could very well trade him this offseason.
Phoenix dangled Durant in trade talks at the deadline — nearly dealing him away — before he made it clear he didn’t want to be moved mid-season.
His injury comes late in the season and Phoenix can expect to miss the postseason should he miss any time (and the Dallas Mavericks win enough games).
If this is it for Durant in Phoenix, it was certainly an interesting tenure. However, they should try and do everything they can to retain a talent like the Texas product and keep him paired with Booker.
