Ayo Edeberi has revealed she received “insane death threats” after Elon Musk commented on a fake news story that she was replacing Johnny Depp in a new installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise.

“Just remembering when I got some of the most insane death threats and racial slurs of my life (idk if it’s the #1 moment, but for sure top 3) for a fake reboot of a movie I had never even heard of because of this man,” Edebiri posted on her Instagram Stories alongside a screenshot of Musk’s post. “LMAO. So not only is he double Sieg Heil-ing fascist, he’s an idiot but anyway.”

Musk posted on his microblogging platform X on February 7, 2024, “Disney sucks,” as a reaction to the fake news report.

The Tesla owner legitimized the story to his millions of followers, prompting many supporters to comment on Edebiri.

Musk recently revealed he’s been getting death threats over his aggressive approach to budget cuts affecting the livelihoods of thousands of Americans.

Edebiri’s comment about Musk came after Bill Burr’s comments on the Tesla owner which the Bear star said the comedian was on target “every time.”

“I’m trying to get regular people to stop yelling at each other and realize that it’s a select few group of nerds eating raw almonds and doing their stupid workouts and competing with each other to have the biggest infinity pool and the rest of us are getting pushed down,” Burr said on NPR’s Fresh Air. “They’ve politicized the whole stupid thing and we’re falling for it.”

When Burr was asked about who he was referring to, the comedian said, “That idiot Elon Musk!”

Burr, who has an upcoming comedy special on Hulu titled Drop Dead Years, said that the Tesla CEO is “evidently a Nazi,” referring to Musk’s gesture during Trump’s inauguration.

“I just refuse to believe it was an accidental two-time Sieg Heil. And he does it at a presidential inauguration!” Burr added.

“This is why I hate liberals,” he said. “Liberals have no teeth whatsoever. They just go, ‘Oh my God, can you believe this? I’m getting out of the country!’ I’m just like, you’re gonna leave the country because of one guy with dyed hair plugs and a laminated face? Who makes a bad car and has an obsolete social media platform? Why doesn’t he leave? Why are we so afraid of this guy who can’t fight his way out of a wet paper bag?”
