Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are preparing to finally tie the knot in a lavish ceremony, having been engaged for nearly two years.

Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos' set to wed in Italy over the summer

The pair is said to have wed in December but, whether true or not, they are now certainly planning to pull all the stops out for the nuptials.

Journalist Ms Sanchez, 55, has this week been spotted having lunch with her friend Eva Longoria as she gets ready to wed the Amazon founder and philanthropist.

The couple were recently spotted together at Donald Trump’s inauguration, with Mr Bezos having become a born-again supporter of the Republican, tweeting to congratulate him.

They have both been married before, Mr Bezos having divorced Mackenzie Scott – the mother of his four children.

Mr Bezos told CNN last year: “Lauren is the most generous, most big-hearted person that you would ever meet… She never misses a birthday. The network of people that she gives birthday presents to is gigantic. And that’s just a small example.

“We’re really great teammates, and we also have a lot of fun together. And we love each other.”

Everything we know about Jeff Bezos’s wedding to Lauren Sanchez

It will take place in June

We don’t have an exact date but it will be in June, reports News 18, which will be two years and one month after their engagement.

Mr Bezos proposed with a $2.5m diamond ring, so big that Ms Sanchez “kind of blacked out for a moment”.

Reports from December, that the two were planning a Christmas wedding in Colorado, appear to not have come to fruition.

There will be a stellar guest list

As well as Longoria, the guest list will also include Leonardo Di Caprio, Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey, as well as President Trump, reports the Mail Online.

Barbra Streisand, Queen Rania of Jordan and the Kardashians are also said to be saving the date.

It will likely be on a massive yacht

The wedding looks set to be in Venice. The Mail has said that Bezos’s $500m yacht Koru will be the venue.

“The event… will take place aboard their $500m mega yacht Koru, anchored in the Venetian Lagoon,” a source said.

Local regulations may force it to move from its current mooring, however.

Venice is set to be the stage for the highly anticipated nuptials between multi-billionaire Jeff Bezos and his bride-to-be Lauren Sanchez, according to multiple media reports, but even one of the world’s richest people may face a struggle to access the best views in town.

Nowhere to park a mega yacht: The Venice Grand Canal.

The three-day celebrations are reported to be starting around June 26 and will take place on Bezos’ $500-million superyacht, Koru, which will be anchored in the Venice lagoon.

While that may sound like a dream wedding location, restrictions on large ships getting too close to Venice’s historic St. Mark’s square may impede the view.

Bezos’ yacht, at 3,493 gross tons, is far below the 25,000 gross ton maximum for vessels entering the Venice lagoon, but it’s too large to be allowed anywhere near the Grand Canal, the Italian city’s most scenic waterway.

While no details of the ceremony have been confirmed by Bezos or his fiancée — CNN reached out but didn’t get a response — several luxury accommodation venues appear poised for an influx of guests over the purported wedding dates.

The city’s five major luxury hotels along the Grand Canal, including the Belmond Hotel Cipriani, the St. Regis Venis, the Gritti Palace, the Hotel Danieli and the luxurious Grand Aman Hotel, where George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin celebrated their wedding in 2014, are all almost entirely booked for the last weekend of June, according to calls to the hotels made by CNN.

The hotels would not confirm the occasion or if large blocks of rooms had been reserved.
